You may qualify for health insurance through the Health Insurance Marketplace or TennCare.

Neighborhood Health counselors can provide free in-person assistance to help you find health coverage through the Federal Insurance Marketplace often called "ObamaCare."  We can also see if you qualify for TennCare and help you re-enroll in TennCare.

  • If you are uninsured, want to change your health plan or just have questions about the health insurance options Neighborhood Health can help.

  • We can answer questions about the Marketplace, TennCare and Cover Kids.

  • You can have an appointment with an Insurance Counselor at any time convenient for you. 

  • Appointments with an insurance counselor are also available evenings and Saturday at our Madison location.

  • We have insurance counselors who speak Spanish.

Insurance Counselor Assistance includes:

  • Working with you to put together all your information needed for health insurance enrollment.

  • Entering information in electronic forms to see if you are eligible for low cost insurance coverage based on your income.

  • Providing you information to compare the different insurance plans to find the one best for you.

  • Determining if you have special circumstances and can enroll in insurance right away.

  • Enrolling and re-enrolling in TennCare.

All Neighborhood Health Centers provide care for you and your family at any age.  Our doctors, nurse practitioners and physician assistants provide high quality comprehensive family medical care including: 


24- hour call-line:  YOU DON’T NEED TO GO TO AN EMERGENCY ROOM.  If you are a patient with Neighborhood Health, you can call our 24-hour line, 615.227.3000, on holidays, evenings and weekends and talk with a provider about a health concern or have your prescriptions refilled.  


Preventive Care: Physicals and screenings help to keep you healthy and identify health issues before they are a major problem so that they can be treated successfully.


Urgent Care:  When you are sick you want to be seen.  With our same day visits you can receive immediate care.  We recommend that you call first.  Or you can come in and we’ll see you as soon as possible.


Chronic Care:  Many conditions are life-long health issues.  Asthma, diabetes and hypertension require that you meet with your provider regularly to stay healthy.


Lab Test:  Many lab tests can be done at the Neighborhood Health center. We can also send your blood or sample to a lab and have the results in 24-hours.


Prescriptions:  All our providers can evaluate your situation and choose a medications that are best for you. Prescriptions can be sent electronically from the clinic to the pharmacy of your choice.


 

Specialty Medical Care

Women's Health Care:  Neighborhood Health helps women of all ages stay healthy and provides a full range of women's healthcare including:

  • Family Planning:  Pregnancy tests and Birth Control is available, including birth control pills and injections.
  • FREE long acting reversible birth control:  Neighborhood Health is able to offer IUDs and implants, birth control that lasts several year, at no cost to patients.  These forms of birth control are effective, safe and reversible but generally out of reach of many women as they cost $800 to $1,000.
  • Screening for breast and cervical cancer
  • Prenatal Care:  We care for women throughout their pregnancy. You are assigned a coach to answer all your questions and plan your care. We help to enroll you in insurance if needed.  We also provide care for you and your infant after delivery. Delivery is at the hospital of YOUR choice.  
     

Teen Care:  Neighborhood Health respects the rights of teens to confidential healthcare during this time in their life when they are going through many changes. Teens may request services including counseling, STD testing, pregnancy testing and birth control and it will remain private and confidential.


HIV Prevention: Neighborhood Health roffers the new medication, PrEP. This is an anti-HIV medication that helps keep HIV negative people from becoming infected. PrEP is approved by the Federal Drug Administration and has been shown to be safe and effective. A single pill taken once daily is highly effective against HIV.  


Adult and Elderly Care for Men and Women:  Neighborhood Health provides the care you need as you mature and grow older. You require additional screenings, particularly for cancer, and you may have chronic conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure. 


Pediatric Care:  Neighborhood Health provides care for infants, children and youth. This includes immunizations as well as diagnosis and treatment for asthma and attention deficit disorders.


Coordinated Care for Referrals and Hospitalization: Neighborhood Health makes referrals to many specialists and testing centers. We also refer to other physicians if you need to be hospitalized. Our staff will make all these appointments for you and keep you informed of the time and place of your appointments. We will inform you of results and plan any additional care.


 

Dental Care

Dental Care is available at Eastside, Lebanon, and Napier Place.

Pediatric and Teen:

  • Parents are encouraged to begin dental care for their children at the age of 2

  • Exams and X-rays

  • Fillings

  • Sealants, flouride and other preventative care

  • Referral for specialty needs

Adult:

  • Emergency/Same day care when you are in pain

  • Exams and X-rays

  • Extractions

  • Fillings

  • Partials and Dentures

  • Referrals for specialty needs

Counseling

Everyone faces times in their lives when they need the support and help of others. This can happen when you have a serious illness, find yourself using drugs or alcohol, have family problems, lose your job, face financial difficulties, lose a loved one or have a very traumatic experience.

Neighborhood Health has professional counseling staff to help you through these tough times.  They can assist if you are suffering depression or anxiety. They can also help if you feel that your alcohol use is out of control. Referrals are made if you need specialty or residential services.

SOS:  If you are struggling with prescription medication, opioid or heroin use, Neighborhood Health can help.  We have a special program which can provide counseling and medication assisted treatment.  We can also provide financial assistance for medications.  

Health Education

We know that many health conditions are very complicated. Health Education is available so that you can learn more and know how to get healthy, stay healthy and feel good.


Diabetes and Hypertension:  Education is available on how to take your medications, making healthy food choices, creating a healthy eating plan and changing your lifestyle to include exercise and staying fit.


Pregnancy:  We want you and your baby to be healthy. We have counselors that are available to support you in many ways including: getting insurance, information about changes during your pregnancy, and how to care for your baby.


Community Outreach:  Neighborhood Health Staff are available to come to your community event to provide screenings and education and inform your group or community about the services that we provide. Please call our central number and they will get you to our Outreach Program.
